Separate the Trex surface, supporting frame, and lower-level work
Replacing deck boards is different from rebuilding a deck. Existing posts, beams, joists, connections and stair geometry need evaluation before deciding what can remain. A composite surface does not repair a compromised structure. For a new elevated deck, coordinate the support layout and stair landing with whatever you want to do underneath later.

RainGuard before future finishes
Battlefield installed RainGuard on this deck. The proposed concrete patio and screened lower space are not completed work. Plan their elevation, drainage, ceiling, and enclosure separately if they are part of your goals.

- Compare an itemized scope
- Look for decking, framing, railing, stairs, trim, drainage, cleanup and optional lighting or lower-level work. Ask for written workmanship terms and exclusions alongside manufacturer warranty information.

Deck resurfacing and new construction are different scopes with different planning ranges.
Resurfacing can preserve a suitable existing structure, while a new deck includes the footings, posts, beams, joists, connections, and other structural work beneath the walking surface. Final pricing still depends on demolition, framing condition, stairs, railings, access, finish selections, and connected construction.

Yes, coordinate deck drainage and its discharge with the intended use and elevation below. RainGuard is not an enclosure and does not stop rain arriving from outside the deck footprint. Ceiling, electrical, concrete and screening work need their own scope.
Are permits and workmanship coverage included in the estimate?
The proposal should assign drawing, permit and inspection responsibilities for your property and scope. Battlefield Services provides a one-year labor workmanship warranty on our deck work. Eligible materials carry the manufacturer's warranty separately. Review the project agreement and manufacturer documents for coverage terms and exclusions; permit requirements depend on the parcel's jurisdiction and proposed work.
